Mark Webber Foundation was inspired by the Australian Formula One driver to combine his love with the great out doors and his passion for philanthropy. Webber, a firm believer in providing direct assistance to those in need, established the
Foundation in 2006 with an aim to raise funds for Australian charity organisations.
The Mark Webber Pure Tasmania Challenge is the brain child of the Foundation and in 2006 raised approximately $540,000 for its nominated charities. In 2008 the nominated charities are the Leukaemia Foundation and the Save the Tassie Devil Appeal.
The Mark Webber Pure Tasmania Challenge comprises of a 5 day, 350km adventure race through the Tasmanian wilderness. Entrants will be required to trek, bike ride, kayak and white water raft in a race to the finish line. In 2008 there will be 80 entrants from both corporate, government, media and elite sporting communities, divided up into teams of 2 or 4.
To formally secure our entry we require $12,500 of which all goes to the nominated charities via the Foundation. This sum provides for all the necessary equipment,
accommodation, food and team support costs as well as travel to and from the event.
